Well this week has flown by. And I'm not going to lie, my legs are t.i.r.e.d. I hope I get over this constant fatigue. Anywho, I'm training for this marathon because the book (Run Less Run Faster) has the most motivating schedule that encourages cross training instead of 6 solid days of running. (run 3 days a week and cross train 2) Only running 3 days a week, easy right?! Ha ha ha
This week so far:
Monday- cycle for an hr
Tues- sprints on the treadmill (fastest 5 mi of my life. killer)
Wed- 6.5 miles
Thurs- Swim for 40 mins
Tonight the swim felt so good. Every time I put on that cap it takes me back to my summer league swim team days and I can't help but smile. I do feel bad for everyone else who witnesses me in that same swimsuit I've worn since those swim meets. Not a fashion statement Mekelle's lane. My thoughts while I was swimming:
-I could use some music right now
-oh wait, I can kind of hear the music from the water aerobics class going on
-is that guy paralyzed? Yes, yes he is and he's swimming laps! Ok, if that's not inspiring, I don't know what is
-I'm starving
-maybe I'll just go join the water aerobics. no, keep swimming.
-I can't wait to go home and drink a banana shake
Speaking of banana shake... let me share a secret healthy shake that tastes so refreshing (especially after a work out). I'm serious. I crave this almost every day. All it is is almond milk and frozen bananas. That's it. It is so delicious and healthy. You could add protein too if you want. Go try it! Thanks mom for getting me hooked.

I've heard almond milk is amazing in smoothies. Your simple recipe actually has me craving this :)
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you're running a marathon. Oh and good job on getting second in your age group for the half! I did the math and man, that's fast!
ReplyDeleteAdd spinach! Looks gross, but I swear you won't taste it w/ the banana - and it's a really easy way to get more veggies in!
