KYLE GOT DISCHARGED TODAY!

My birthday wish was granted. And early to say the least.  He's doing well.  Tired and still has some rest and recovery to do, but we're so glad to be OUTTA there.  What happens next?  Well there will be daily doctor visits, that will turn into weekly, then monthly, then yearly, and so on.  But overall his counts are high and Drs are all impressed and pleased with the way things went. 

Last night he got a little taste of freedom as the Dr. told him it was ok to leave the unit and walk around hospital property.  Hospital property was distinctly defined though-- no Moes or McCalisters.  (she could see it in his eyes) So we headed outside to sit on the patio for a few minutes.  Like I said, just a taste of the freedom he got today!

I seriously loved some of the nurses up there.  Kerry was my favorite.  There's something about relying on someone to take care of the person you love more than anything, and then trusting them and feeling comfortable with them around.  She was around during the ICU days and then again during these last 2 weeks.  Such a genuine, honest, caring person. 

OH happy day! Now I'm off to spend the rest of the night at HOME w/ my hubby.
