Last week I got some new running shoes that are heaven on my feet, and a new nike tank top for $12.95. That's right. Nike. $12.95. Getting a deal like that on work out clothes brings me almost as much joy as crossing a finish line in them.
I fully believe you can get pumped up by going and getting a new workout outfit. (even if it is just a shirt).
So yes, I was excited to take my new shirt for a run. About 15 minutes into the workout, it would've taken a lot more than a new outfit to make me excited about doing what I was doing. Today was one of those just-get-through-it days.
New shirt, new shoes, and workout:

10-20 minute warm up
run .62 miles @ 4:16 (about 8.3-8.5 on the treadmill)
rest/recovery jog for .25 miles
Repeat 5 times
On a side note, I heard Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas Is You on the radio today. Meaning the Christmas season has now commenced for me. And I'm counting down until our tree goes up. 3 days.
I found your blog! I love that you are running a marathon. I think I'm going to try and run a half marathon if I can convince my knees. I totally agree about the new workout clothes too.
