Savannah is an old, southern, classic city. She's lined with gorgeous oak trees, beautiful squares, and amazing southern and seafood dining. You can't forget River Street too. So fun!
We left Birmingham Thursday night to say with my mom in GA, and then got on the road early Friday morning to get to Savannah around lunch time. I headed over to the race expo and got my race number and packet (no lines! It was great!) then headed to Mellow Mushroom for some carb loading with Derek and Julie. Derek is Kyle's bff who was in town from Utah interviewing in Savannah for medical school. Talk about good timing! It was so fun spending the day touring the city with them. Fingers crossed they get to come to Birmingham for med school!
That afternoon we did a trolley tour which was just awesome! Saw so many cool sites-- the oldest, largest Catholic cathedral in GA, the oldest, still running police station in the South, lots of old southern homes, and you can't forget Paula Deen's famous restaurant. I'm a little disappointed I didn't capture more pictures.
We met up with my dad for dinner that night (he was in town for work that week too), then headed to bed to rest up for Saturday morning.

This makes me want to go back and actually hang out in the city! We did a lot of hanging out in the living room.:)
