yo yos and naps

This weekend we're home-bound bc Kyle's counts are low.  And you know what? I really like these weekends when we can't go out to the movies or be in large crowds. At first is was kind of annoying, but now I'm loving Friday and Saturday nights when we're forced to stay home and watch movies and spend time, just the 2 of us.  And not to mention it's really relaxing!

Example a. (today):  Woke up and went for a run with this great lady at 6am and it if you can believe it, it was actually a little chilly when I walked outside.  I know I talk about how the weather is beautiful here a lot, but really people, today was beyond amazing.  It was nice and cool this morning, and 75 with zero humidity all day.  This is rare for June here.  We're taking it all in.  Anyways, 6am run, then got back in bed to take a morning nap while Kyle snoozed.  Around 9am we got up and went to get some doughnuts from Yo Yos (this new place in Homewood) and they turned out to be kinda a bummer.  Not so good.  Ya, those powder sugar ones... NOT good.

We watched a few episodes of "Locked Up Abroad" (anyone else seen that show? we're hooked!) and then I hit the homewood pool for a couple of hours.  Enjoyed some people watching and relaxing and then came home to find Kyle taking a nap.  So of course I joined in.  Yes, this is nap #2 for the day.  I couldn't fall asleep (go figure), but it was still niiiiiice.

Ummm yeah, so did I mention I've been RUNNING this week!!!! AM-A-Z-ING!  Wednesday was my first 5 mile jog, I wore the ankle brace, it was 95 degrees, 5:30pm, my foot felt like it was going to fall off bc it got numb, and I felt super out of shape.  It was horrible.  BUT Friday I got my sore fanny out of bed to go for it again, sans ankle brace, 6am, and it was great.  I felt like a runner again.  And most importantly, no pain.  I guess taking off 17 straight days and doing nothing did me well. Besides almost making me go crazy without those running endorphins running through my blood.

Lastly-- random--- but how adorable is our dog? Mom took her to get her summer cut and I just wish I could drive to GA and get her back home with us.  Soon Lilo. soon.

  1. Um, I wish I ran the full so I could have that cool mercedes shirt! That is so sad about the doughnuts. Seriously, what a waste of perfectly good powdered sugar and flour!

I'm so glad your foot is feeling better, and I hope Kyle's counts get up this week. And yes, that dog is freaking adorable!
