training update-- 1/2 way there

I had a dream the other night that my running partner bailed on me, I forgot all my gu (my only source of energy while running long distances), AND got lost during the marathon. Lost, during a race! I sure hope there are more people around me than there was in my dream. I mean nightmare.

I'm officially half way through the marathon training. Have I followed every single workout exactly as instructed by the book? no. You try it during the Thanksgiving holidays and Christmas. It's tough. But I'm making sure to keep very very close to what I'm supposed to do. Like last week-- needed to do 18 miles on Saturday while I was home. Instead did 12 and an hour of crossfit. I think that counts.... ;) Which, by the way, I wish i had the money to join a crossfit gym. It was an AMAZING workout and so much fun! One day. *sigh

So far we've run over 200 miles, spent more than 9 hours in the pool, countless hours on the bike, and lots of gu chomps and gatorade in between. Oh and this week our training starts to "peak." (Meaning we run like 11 miles in the middle of the week). Good thing I have some time off work. Bad thing is that I have time off and 3 hours of the morning will be on the road. But what comes after the peak? The taper baby.

Almost there. The end is in sight. Or is it the beginning?
