Family Time

The past couple of weeks have been crazy busy, and so fun! We have been so lucky to spend so much time with our family! 2 weeks ago we were able to have Carter (Kyle's little bro) come out and spend his spring break with us. We did some spring skiing, hit up the PC outlets, enjoyed some yummy sushi and yo-zone, etc. We had a ball. It will be fun to have him out here with us next year!

March 18th we also had a neat experience. Kyle, Becca, and I were able to join Grandma Johnson and all of the Johnson siblings and cousins for a presentation at the Church Library in SLC. Grandpa Johnson served his whole life in the Church and did a remarkable job keeping a journal of it all. In turn, the Church requested to take all of his journals and preserve them in the library downtown. We were able to go and learn about the preservation of historical church documents and also witness some of these ourselves. We were able to see the original manuscripts of The Book of Mormon, the journal of the prophet Joseph Smith, and so many other documents. There was such an amazing feeling of respect, peace, and honor in that room that night that confirmed once again that these things are true. It was so neat to be there and definitely something we will treasure forever!

This past weekend we were also lucky enough to see Grandma Lucy who came down from Idaho. Becca and I ate dinner with her Friday night and got to see our cute cousins too :) Saturday Becca motivated us to run 8 miles (haven't run that far since the race) and we loved it! I'm feeling another half coming up... We also hit some tennis balls with the sisters who beat us! Next time girls, next time.

Well the next exciting event in the lives of Kyle and Mekelle looks like.... MICHAEL BUBLE! 2 days!

  2. That is so awesome you had that experience at the church history library. I really wanted to go there before I moved. Unfortunately I never made it. That is so crazy that your husband is from Dothan! Stake Conference is in a few weeks so I will think of you guys as his Dad speaks. Does he have any advice on things to do here?
