Emergency Room

Saturday, oh Saturday! Where to begin... Let's just say the day didn't go quite like we planned. Kyle did some studying while I ran some errands and made christmas sugar cookies (oh the life of a college grad right?) and that night we had our ward christmas activity at 7 peaks-- ice skating! It should've been fun, and it was for about the first 35 minutes until I turned around to a loud thump on the ice and saw Kyle laying face down. Not sure what had just happened I basically leaped through the air to get to him and started screaming when I saw him lift his head. All I could see was BLOOD! His whole face was covered and I couldn't tell right away where it was coming from. I was just praying he didn't crack his head open. I was a little hysterical to say the least, and Kyle was bleeding and definitely knocked out for what seemed like an eternity to me. Luckily our friends were there to calm me and nurse Kyle's wound, I mean hole in the side of his face. And luckily he regained consciousness and our dear friends Steve and Steph took us to the ER to get him stiched up. 21 stiches later we left the ER learning 3 things: Ice skating is NOT our thing, we are extremely grateful for health insurance, and I go a little ballistic when I see someone I love bleeding before my eyes! Oh AND that we have amazing neighbors and friends :)

On a lighter note, we went to see the temple lights last weekend. Besides the negative degree weather, it was so fun! Provo has been freeeezing. Highs last week were in the 20s. We can hardly wait to have a break from the snow and cold. GA here we come!

  1. Mekelle! Hey! I saw that you linked to our blog. I'll add you to our list :) That is such a scary story about Kyle hitting his head! I would have totally lost it if I had been in the same situation. Glad he wasn't hurt too badly!
